How to Style Fall Family Photos in 24 Hours or Less

It’s that time of year when your social media feeds start filling with families in pumpkin patches, wearing plaid. And you (and I) panic because we haven’t booked the photographer for our own fall family photos or maybe we DID but we totally forgot and the shoot is tomorrow. This was me last weekend. I panic booked a session - and that session was less than 24 hours away. Why would I do that to myself?! Surprisingly, it actually went COMPLETELY smoothly. Here are the EXACT 4 things I did to make a last minute photo shoot with a toddler and a breastfed infant go off without a hitch: Pick one family member and shop their closet! This is the...

Travel with Tots: A Day in NYC

When you have little kiddos (especially when you have a breastfed baby), gone are the days of picking up and jetting out of the house at the drop of a hat. A little planning and preparation are required, even for day trips. And sometimes the stress of that makes you throw in the towel before you even got started and you just decide to stay home. But that’s no fun! I THINK we finally have these day trip adventures down to a science. And it is TOTALLY doable without any meltdowns…by anyone (yes, mamas have meltdowns too, am I right?!). On Friday night, we decided to take a Saturday day trip to NYC. September is one of my favorite times...

Maternity Leave: Everything You Need to Know

I don’t know how this happened, but I’m already on the tail end of my maternity leave! As I’ve been on this journey with baby #2, I’ve gotten a TON of questions about maternity and family leave. It’s the most confusing topic ever - I swear they make it hard on purpose so mamas don’t take everything they’re entitled to, which just makes my blood boil! 2 Months with 2 Kids: 5 Things I’ve Learned

The last 2 months have been an absolute whirlwind with a 2 year old and a newborn! As much as I love my kiddos, I’d be lying if I said this season of life has been all sunshine and rainbows. It’s hard and it’s exhausting. I’m still nursing around the clock and eat most of my meals with one hand, standing up. But this season has been teaching me a lot - here are 5 things I’ve learned in 2 months with 2 kids: It’s chaotic and messy. Like super messy. If you have a toddler and a newborn, it’s like living in a tornado. And that tornado is swirling pee, poop, milk, crumbs, and dirt. Clutter and mess give...

Nina’s Birth Story

6 weeks ago, my second baby made her debut at 38 weeks. Her entire labor journey was just a preview of how her personality would be out in the real world. Fickle, sassy, and sweet all rolled into one. Miss Nina took her time, but somehow came fast and furious simultaneously - I think my little Sagittarius may be a Gemini at heart. Her story really starts a couple weeks before she was born, but ends in a blink of an eye... At 36 weeks, I started having sporadic contractions, was dilated 4cm, and was 70% effaced. My son, Mason, was born at 36 weeks and I was DETERMINED for my Nina girl to stay in longer! But, pretty soon,...
